Building-to-Building Wireless Networking in Troy, Libby & Lincoln and Sanders Counties, MT

Point-to-Point Wireless Bridges • TP-Link Equipment • Owner-Installed

Need internet in your shop, barn, guest house, or a second office across the property? Running cable between buildings means trenching, conduit, and a lot of digging, and sometimes it isn’t practical at all. All Systems Go (ASG Computer) in Troy connects buildings together wirelessly with long-distance point-to-point wireless links, so the second building shares the same network and internet connection as the first. We use TP-Link equipment. Most links we install span a couple hundred yards, and the longest we’ve done is about a quarter mile.

Owner Greg Goodman designs and installs every link himself. We’ve served Lincoln and Sanders counties since 2013, with computer industry experience dating back to 1996, and we’ve completed more than 400 Starlink installs across the area.

What We Do

  • Point-to-point wireless bridges. A pair of outdoor radios, one on each building and aimed at each other, links two networks together as if they were connected by a cable.
  • Connecting several buildings. Link a house to a shop, a shop to a barn, or an office to a warehouse, and share one internet connection across all of them.
  • Sharing your Starlink. Get your Starlink connection out to a shop, barn, or other outbuilding.
  • Wi-Fi inside each building. Once the link is in, we set up Wi-Fi, including mesh networks, so you have coverage where you need it.
  • Cameras on remote buildings. A wireless link lets you put security cameras on a shop, barn, or gate that’s far from the house.
  • Talk it through first. Wireless links need a clear view between the two ends, so trees, hills, and buildings in the way matter. Call us to talk about your property.

How Far Can a Wireless Link Reach?

Most of the building-to-building links we install span a couple hundred yards, which covers a typical house and shop, barn, guest house, or other outbuilding on the same property. The longest link we’ve done is about a quarter mile. We install TP-Link wireless equipment.

Who It’s For

Ranches, farms, and rural homes with a shop or barn; businesses with more than one building on a lot; resorts, campgrounds, and properties with guest cabins; and anyone in Troy, Libby, Eureka, the Yaak, Bull Lake, Noxon, Heron, Trout Creek, Thompson Falls, and Plains, or Bonners Ferry, Idaho, who wants one network across more than one building.

How It Works

  • Call or stop by. Tell us which buildings you want to connect and how far apart they are.
  • Talk about your property. Tell us about the buildings and what’s between them, and we’ll give you an estimate before any work starts.
  • Installation. Greg mounts the radios, runs the cabling, and configures the link.
  • Testing. We test the connection in each building before we leave.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far apart can the buildings be?

Most of our links span a couple hundred yards, and the longest we’ve done is about a quarter mile. What will work also depends on what’s between the buildings, like trees and hills, so call us to talk about your property.

What equipment do you use?

We use TP-Link wireless equipment.

Do I need a second internet plan for my shop?

Often, no. A wireless bridge can share the internet connection you already have, including Starlink, with the other building.

Can you get Wi-Fi to my whole property?

We can link your buildings together and set up Wi-Fi, including mesh networks, inside each one. Call us to talk about your setup.

How much does a wireless link cost?

It depends on the distance, the equipment needed, and the mounting, so we don’t publish prices. Call us for a quote.
